Therese Nortvedt interprets "A Doll's House"

Nortvedt´s two prints can be viewed as a contrasting pair to the oil on canvas paintings, adressing the female figure in two phases: Nora at the beginning, before the drama has caught up with her, and Nora after she becomes aware of the consequences of her actions. In the first she is the lark, and in the second the birds have been transformed into something black and threatening.

In her pictures Nortvedt focuses exclusively on the female form, and she maintains this focus in her interpretation of Ibsen. At the same time, these works are also very typical of her work as a whole.
